What's your favourite music video ft. dance?

Where do most people see dance? The theatre? Clubs? Strictly?? We suspect it may actually be in music videos. So we've been choosing our favourite music videos, ones with the most iconic choreography and memorable dancing. Can you think of any we've missed?

Hannah’s choice: Here It Goes Again by OK Go

I love how simple it is, but it’s so good! It’s timed perfectly! OK Go are the masters of choreography. I remember it made me laugh out loud the first time I watched it. I definitely tried out some of the moves… 

Rowena’s choice: Hello by Lionel Richie

I feel extremely strongly that this is one of the greatest music videos ever made and cannot be beaten for comedy value. Lionel’s acting skills are off the charts. There is also ballet in it (from 2:31), it’s a great option for those who enjoy excruciatingly cringeworthy Lionel Ritchie moments in their life.

There are SO many others, but this was the first that sprang to mind!

Vicky’s choice: Let Forever Be by The Chemical Brothers

My vote is Let Forever Be by Chemical Brothers for a low-fi twist on Busby Berkeley kaleidoscope choreographies, and it’s a bit psychedelic.

Zoie’s choice: Around the World by Daft Punk

Instantly enjoy the musicality of the movement with different beats of the track. Topped by the wonderful absurdity of the characters, that you just accept and who all have their own way of moving.

The more I watch, the more aesthetically pleasing it becomes, helped by watching them move in circles, which links perfectly to the words in the track.

Lizanne’s choice: Freestyler by Bomfunk MC

This video reminds me of being an extremely uncool kid who loved the idea of ‘street dance’ but had absolutely no ability – not that this stopped me giving it ago in my lounge! Dancing along to this let me pretend I was not only super cool but had super powers too!!

Matt’s choice: Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim

Christopher Walken is brilliant, this is one of those where I think the video trumped the actual song! I love the way he moves, it looks kind of awkward in that high-waisted suit he’s wearing, it’s so bizarrely good.
