While social cohesion and pride in the estate does thrive, the community have felt disconnected, forgotten and lacking in opportunities within the wider city. Local authority cuts hit youth services hard, leading to the closure of the Sure Start Centre and the estate’s youth club. Residents are calling for accessible cultural programs to fill the gap and provide vital support for the younger generation, ensuring the estate’s community spirit remains strong.
