Support us and Power positive social Change Through Dance

How does a dance company, a community, and a local business work together to create significant positive change? The answer is — We Are Holyrood, powered by our Changemakers.

By partnering with ZoieLogic as a Changemaker you will be making a tangible social impact by enabling us to provide positive creative activities that improve peoples lives.

Our projects build social cohesion, raise aspirations, and help individuals unlock their full potential, creating a cycle of positive change that benefits everyone involved.

“The young people are so passionate about it, ZoieLogic are so passionate about it and you can just see the difference it makes within the community, and for those young people’s lives as well. The community element is massive. There’s so many different nationalities within this community and being able to bring them together is something that can’t be matched”

22 acres of creativity, diversity and pride: welcome to we are Holyrood

The initiative that Changemakers support is called We Are Holyrood, and was created with and led by the young people of Holyrood.

Together we are on a mission to raise aspirations, challenge perceptions of who they are and illuminate the place they proudly call home.

Since 2019, we have provided over 500 hours of free regular creative activities engaged over 600 residents through projects that have brought their stories to life and reimagined the place they call home.

Set in the heart of Southampton, Holyrood is a tight-knit pocket of social housing built in the 1950s, featuring high-rise flats, terraced houses,
green spaces and a community hub.

Holyrood in numbers

  • Over 2,500 residents live on the estate
  • Over 25 different languages are spoken on the estate
  • 32% of young people live in low income families (the city average is 23%)
  • 35% of residents in this area live in the top 20% most deprived areas in England

Historic negative stereotyping, rising gentrification and zero youth service provision have led to a community feeling disconnected, forgotten and misunderstood, where aspirations are low for the young people living there as well as support networks and access to positive activities non-existent.

Residents are calling for this to change and that’s where ZoieLogic and YOU come in. By becoming a Changemaker you enable the young people’s ambitions to become a reality and help us fund a programme of yearly activity, including:

  • Annual community festival – The Holyrood Hub
  • Regular creative dance and film Projects
  • Monthly movement sessions
  • Youth Ambassador and Workplace Programme
